The Star Theatre opened April 14, 1917 with motion pictures. It seems to have deposed the Merna Opera House in September of 1917 when it was closed and demolished.
The Star Theatre then got competition from the Merna Theatre which launched November 22, 1918 with Elmo Lincoln in “The Romance of Tarzan”.
Operator J.C. Zieg equipped the venue with BesTone Sound on February 15, 1930 with Irene Dunne in “Showboat”. It appears to have ceased operations in 1946.
