The Palace Theatre launched as a full-time movie house and appears to have opened by N.D. Dyeus on March 19, 1913. The theatre was owned thereafter by several other owners. E.R. Millican upgraded the Palace Theatre to sound and then gave it a Streamline Moderne style makeover to became the Texas Theatre in 1931. It would later close as better theatres were built in the area.
