The Electric Theatre had opened as a nickelodeon-era store-show theatre in 1909 and moved to this building in 1910. In December of 1910, under new owner W. Riley Davis, the venue became the Little Daisy Theatre with some nights featuring movies and live entertainment on others.
In November of 1911, Davis improved the motion picture equipment to better present films. Davis had a hit on his hands and created a new-build facility at 106 S. Main Street becoming the long-running Empress Theatre specializing in movies that opened late in 1913, closing the Little Daisy Theatre. The Empress Theatre closed in 1949.
