Elizabethton’s first theatre takes place before World War I. Opening around 1908, the Pictorium launched in town by operators William B. Carter, William Mathis, and Henry Weaver of Johnson City.
The Pictorium had closed by 1914, but a bit of the Pictorium serves in the December 3, 1950 announcement involving the Grand Theatre’s lease over the Capitol Theatre in town from the Elizabethton Star Theatre.
