The Princess Theatre was opened on March 15, 1911. It had closed by 1926 when a new Princess Theatre was built adjacent to it. This later theatre became the Billings theatre and finally the State Theatre. A fire began in the earlier Princess Theatre building on July 15, 1950 which also destroyed the adjacent State Theatre (which has its own page on Cinema Treasures).
