Royal Theatre

The Royal Theatre was located across the street from the Palace Theatre on Macdonell Street in downtown Guelph. Opened around 1935, the 986-seat single-screen Royal was operated by Famous Players until 1958. The Royal Theatre building, which still stands today, was later converted for other uses and currently houses a nightclub and bar called Trappers Alley (which, although officially addressed to 100 Carden Street, has its main entrance on Macdonell Street).
