Orin J. Sears, manager of the New-Tex Theatre in Anthony, was a frequent write-in movie reviewer in Boxoffice magazine as early as 1947.
Motion Picture Herald reported on October 4, 1952 that L. O. McCormick had sold the “New Tex” to Fred and Lee Welch.
Note:Anthony is a town which straddles the state border between New Mexico & Texas. Film Daily Yearbooks don’t give any listings for Anthony, NM but Anthony, Texas has listings from 1950 to 1955 for a 400-seat Anthony Theatre, in Anthony, TX.
