On July 5, 2009, a 21-year-old woman learning to drive in the parking lot of the theater mistook the gas pedal for the brake in a 1999 Ford she was driving during the late-afternoon hours and ended in disaster. According to the driver, her Ford drove northbound when he attempted to make a left turn in front of the theater building, but accelerated instead of slowing for the turn due to inexperience. The Ford crashed through the two sets of front doors and damaged the concession stand.

The owner of the vehicle, a 29-year-old Lewiston man, was in the passenger side alongside two other passengers, one in the front, but no injuries were reported. A total of $10,000 in damages were reported ($2,000 to the theater, and $8,000 to the Ford).
