Vaudette Theatre Woodstock, IL  - 1908

The Vaudette Theatre located in the city of Woodstock was the first moving-picture house in the city and McHenry County itself, opening on March 4, 1908.

Only operating for three years, the Vaudette Theatre closed its doors for the final time in 1911 in connection to the opening of the Princess Theatre, which opened on September 1, 1911.

The actual opening date is March 4, 1908.

Update: The Vaudette continued to operate into as late as early 1913. Unfortunately there’s not a lot of other information about the Vaudette, meaning that its closing date still remains unconfirmed at this time.
