This was the 2nd Empress Theatre to operate in Central City, KY. The Empress Theatre was a conversion of a retail store and opened in early-1937. It was damaged by a fire on Thanksgiving Day in 1938 and reopened on December 4, 1938.
A closing date is not known, but the building was converted into an electronics store in 1954.
