The Delma Theatre had launched across the street in the former Temple Theatre building. Its flat floor and tight quarters did not allow for a great viewing experience. So when the going gets tough, the tough move across the street. The New Delma Theatre launched there under new management on November 17, 1911 presumably with a sloped floor for improved site lines.
The Delma Theatre closed in 1912. It was replaced by the long-running Cozy Theatre which operated from 1912 to 1922 likely on a ten-year leasing agreement. The opening attraction was on December 20, 1912 where a 40-slide presentation - all taken of local people - was supported by 3,000 feet of moving pictures for a dime. The Cozy Theatre also featured an airdome for operation in the warm summer months.
The town of Wilburton grew and it attracted a new, more modern theatre in 1920 when the much superior American Theatre launched. The aging Cozy Theatre kept going until closure in early 1922. It was used as a fraternal house within months.
