Located in Wellesbourne Mountford, just over 3 miles east of Stratford-on-Avon, Warwickshire. The R.A.F Airforce Base was opened on 14th April 1941 as a training base for bomber command. The Astra Cinema would have opened around this same time.

The base was closed in 1964 and it is now a general airfield.
