Brea Theatre

The Brea Theatre was listed in American Motion Picture Directory 1914-15.

“Moving Pictures” was listed on Sanborn Maps 1915, on the east side of the block at Brea Boulevard and Ash Street, in the Kinsler Hotel, later renamed the Brea Hotel. The theatre was gone on the 1920 maps and replaced by a store.

As for the Brea Hotel, the Santa Ana Register reported it was relocated across the street to be preserved as a landmark. It caught fire April 15, 1990, and survived and in 1998 it was decided the repairs were too costly and demolition began on November 17.

Today the block is occupied by town homes.
