Located in Hartlepool (aka West Hartlepool) County Durham. Built in the late-1800’s as an Oddfellows Hall, it began hosting New Cinematograph Pictures and in 1907 James Pringle brought film shows to the hall. On 6th September 1909 it became a full time cinema, operated by a company named Northern Pictures Ltd. and it operated under that name. It had a 36ft wide proscenium. By 1930 it had been renamed Northerns Picture Hall and a British Thomson-Houston(BTH) sound system was installed in December 1930.

The Northerns Picture Hall was closed in 1960 with Kenneth Williams in “Carry on Teacher” & Ed Kemmer in “The Spider” (aka Earth vs the Spider). It lay unused until 1961 when it reopened as a bingo club. It was later closed and the building was demolished.

The Hartlepool Community Hub Central has been built on the site.
