As advertised in the Highland Park Herald, the Highland Park Theatre opened October 10, 1912, on then named Pasadena Avenue. On October 12 the theatre was reported by the manager, L.E. Cummings, to be drawing large crowds and said he would open the old Iris Theatre at 6005 Pasadena Avenue a little later.
The American Motion Picture Directory 1914-15 listed the theatre under Los Angeles at 5630 Pasadena Avenue.
The Highland Park Theatre was listed under Motion Picture Theatres in the Los Angeles city directory 1914 and later as a Christian Science reading room. In March 1915 the Herald referenced the Christian Science reading room at 5630 Pasadena Avenue.
