On November 15, 1936, Emil Ostlund opened the New Ritz Theatre with Wallace Beery in “Old Hutch”. As reported, Mr. Ostlund had remodeled an old theatre. It may have been the Star Theatre listed in Springville from 1924 to 1933.
On February 8, 1948, the former Ritz Theatre was reopened by Joseph Schow, who had remodeled it and renamed it the Park Theatre. By 1951 the theatre was again being operated by Emil Ostlund.
In February 1957 Modern Art Photo moved into the building.
Film Daily Year Book 1951 lists 400 seats.
