Located in Poulton-Le-Fylde, Lancashire to the north of Blackpool. The 460-seat Poulton Cinema was operating by 1927 and was owned and managed by J.I. Smith. By 1928 it had been renamed Picture House and was presenting variety on the 25ft deep stage plus films. There were four dressing rooms. The proscenium was 25ft wide. In the late-1920’s it was equipped with a British Thomson-Houston (BTH) sound system.
By 1953 it had been taken over by Gordon’s Theatres Ltd and had been renamed Rialto Cinema. The sound system had been changed to a GB-Kalee system. The seating capacity had been increased to 510-seats. By 1963 it was operating with 339-seats, further reduced by 1969 to 344 seats. It had closed by 1980 and had been converted into a supermarket.
The building was last used as a nightclub name NUBLU, but it sits vacant in 2022.
