The Blossom Trail Drive-In opened on January 9, 1956, screening the 1955 comedy, “Lay That Rife Down” with Judy Canova and Robert Lowery with cartoons and short subjects. The airer was opened by Theodore Pawela former Umatilla citrus man, is the owner and his son Edward will manage the new theatre. The cost to build the new drive-in was $50,000, which includes a 104 ft. X 44 ft. Cinema - Scope screen. On August 4, 1960, Theodore Pawela sold the Orange Blossom Drive- In for $100,000 to Al Horton and Jim Partlow dba South Trail Theatre Inc. The South Trail Drive-In was now owned by a partnership with some of the Orlando area drive-In theatres owners and operators. Sam Manning is one of them. Their plan is to pave the parking ramps and completely renovate it per Al Horton. On August 7, 1960, the drive-in reopened as the South Trail Drive-In. Starting on July 28, 1967, the drive-in was closed for repairs / remodeling and reopened on September 20, 1967. The South Trail Drive-In screened their last features with “Sheena” and "Legend of Wolf Woman” on November 29, 1984. Judy Martin, a supervisor for Floyd Theatres Inc., said that the South Trail Drive-In was doing good business. The property was sold and it is now the Fountain Auto Mall in 2022.
