Winchester Cinemas

Regency Theatres opened the Winchester Cinemas as a twin on June 27, 1980 with Michael Caine in “The Island” & Sissy Spacek in “Coal Miner’s Daughter”. In 1983 it was taken over by Loeks Theatres. Six more screens were added in December 1985. Star Theatres took over in 1989. It was closed on January 18, 2000.

The Winchester Cinemas opened its doors as a twin on June 27, 1980 with “The Island” in Screen 1 and “Coal Miner’s Daughter” in Screen 2. Six more screens were added in December 1985, bringing a total to eight screens. The Winchester Cinemas closed on January 18, 2000.

Originally operated by independent “Regency Theaters” in 1980, Loeks Theaters took over in 1983 and then Star Theaters in 1989.
