Located a street away from the Kronwek Cinema Semenovskiy, The Rodina Cinema is a first-run and foreign theater located in the Semenovskiy area at the Pokrovskoye-Rubtsovo region of eastern Moscow. Construction took approximately four years beginning in 1934 with the team of Yakov Kornfeld and ending when it opened its doors in 1938 by Viktor Kalmykov, a professional in Soviet film architecture.
The austere building featured the installations of a giant flatband-screen, bright ceramics, pilasters, and a gallery on the roof with a café next to it. Unfortunately while the building retained its function, it almost completely lost its original interiors.
Strangely enough in the late-2010’s, an outdoor screen was unusually added but was unclear if it’s still operational for not.
