The original Gary Theatre was at 904 Jefferson Street and was operating in 1908. Sanborn shows that the structure included a theatre with stage and a saloon. By 1911 the Elk Hotel, a saloon and a restaurant occupied the building. See also Joe Vogel’s notes re the new Gary Theatre at 475 Broadway.
