The New Empire Theatre was listed in Motion Picture Directory 1914-15 on Walnut Street and confirmed by Sanborn Maps 1912 at then 339 Walnut Street. It later became 413 Walnut Street, the second building across the alley from the post office.

Motion Picture News July 27, 1918, reported W. Henning of the New Empire Theatre had taken over the Opera House, formerly owned by J.W. Deeds, and is remodeling it.
