In 1965, Poitier had a film playing in eight months of the year. His two first-run movies opened in October and November. In October, the Grand Cinerama began a reserved seat-roadshow engagement of “The Greatest Story Ever Told,” an all-star production with a cameo by Poitier. The RKO Palace during November opened “The Bedford Incident” with Poitier second-billed and appearing for a third time with Richard Widmark.
