The Cumberland Presbyterian Church was constructed sometime before 1893. It was a simple wooden structure, not very large, with a peaked roof and a steeple tower at the front.
By 1909, it was vacant, and it had opened as a movie theatre by 1914. The 1916 map shows it in use as a cinema. It is unclear when it closed, but the church was long ago demolished. The house presently on this corner may date to the 1930’s or 1940’s.

Of the three theaters listed at Oakland in the 1914-1915 American Motion Picture Directory one entry says “OAKLAND — Lyric Theatre, cor. Pike St.” No location were given for the other two houses, the Grand Theatre and the Pastime Theatre.
