Aberfeldy Town Hall

Located in Aberfeldy, Perthshire. Aberfeldy Town Hall was opened on 5th December 1891 and was designed in a Free Style by London based architect James MacLaren. It became the Town Hall Cinema by 1927 and it was soon equipped with a Mihaly sound system. It was closed in 1939 when the purpose-built Art Deco style Birks Cinema opened (it has its own page on Cinema Treasures)

The Town Hall resumed its original role as a community centre. It was designated a Grade B Listed building in October 1971. In 2014 author J.K. Rowling (who lives in nearby Killiechassie) made a sizable donation to convert the Town Hall into a music & drama venue.
