Hayes Theatre

This small opera house was constructed sometime between 1900 and 1907. It was a two-story brick building, roughly square, with retail space on the ground floor.

By about 1914-15, movies were shown here, and this was open until at least 1926 as the Hayes Theatre. It likely closed very soon thereafter. The second floor location may well have played a part in the closure.

The building was demolished many years ago, along with all the neighboring structures, and the site today is the location of the village hall.
