The Main Theatre was located in an old two story brick commercial building constructed sometime before 1888. The 1922 map shows a variety store here. It opened August 10, 1926, with Coleen Moore in “Ella Cinders”. It was listed in Film Daily Year Book 1944 with 580 seats.
The Greenville Record Argus reported it closed in 1945 and was converted to a lumber company sales room and in 1949 a shoe store. It was demolished sometime between 2018 and 2023.
