Model Theatre

This early theatre appears on the February 1913 Sanborn, in the basement of an old one-story wooden storefront. The building was likely constructed sometime before 1886, and the main level had held a clothing store since at least 1899.

This facility was likely neither large nor luxurious, and it had closed by 1921, when a tin shop had taken over the space.

The building still exists, modified and updated. It had been a home decor shop, but appears to be vacant.

The Model Theatre survived long enough to be listed in the 1914-1915 American Motion Picture Directory.
