This short-lived early theater was located in a stone-fronted three story brick building dating to before 1884. It was open by late-1907, when electricians installed an elaborate ‘display’ on the front (likely a large sign). It seems to have offered short ‘current events’ films as well as some features. By March 1910, it had closed, and the space was leased to a florist.
Sometime during the dark days of ‘Urban Renewal’, this building was chopped down to a one-story stump, and given a depressingly ugly facade. The side wall still shows the old stone foundation. It appears to be configured for office space, but seems to be vacant.

According to the 1914-1915 American Motion Picture Directory the Lyric had an afterlife. It was listed in that publication at 904 Main Street. The Lyric also presented some vaudeville during its earlier incarnation, as an act (the name of which is unfortunately unreadable) was listed as appearing there in the October 16, 1909 issue of The New York Dramatic Mirror. The Lyric had also been mentioned, with an even more garbled text, in the January 5, 1908 issue of Show World.
