The Marshall Way Theatre was a silent movie house in diminutive Fieldale, Virginia. John Hamilton operated the theatre along with the Bassett Theatre in Bassett. He changed the name of the theatre to Hamilton’s Fieldale Theatre in 1925. A Mr. Campbell purchased the venue in 1931 and gave it a makeover and new sound system.

A renaming contest was held and Tom F. Wilson suggested the winner: The Dale Theatre which it assumed on November 4, 1931. The Dale Theatre appears to have closed following the September 18, 1953 showings of Dale Robertson in “The Silver Whip” and Leo Gorcey in “Feudin' Fools.”
