W.L. “Big Pic” Moseley and R.E. “Small Pic” Moseley operated the original Pic Theatre in downtown Picayune for four months in 1948. But following a September 27, 1948 fire, the Pic Theatre was no more. The “Pics” said that they would rebuild soon and more or less lived up to that pledge. The “new” Pic Theatre opened in the 1950’s and operated until September of 1978.

The Moseleys operated the Ritz Theatre and the Pic Theatre but the Pic Theatre was where stage shows took place including beauty pageants and live appearances by stars in including Smokey Burnette and Don “Red” Berry. After closing in 1978, the former Pic Theatre was home to Fillingame’s Barber Shop in the lobby which lasted until 1982 when demolition occurred in September and October.
