In 1917 a new Masonic Temple was constructed at 605 Bank Street, a block away from the first temple. The Idaho Heritage trust reports the temple was designed by Clarence Z. Hubbell of Spokane.

Over the years the building has been home to various businesses, the most known being J.C. Penney, located on the ground floor when photographed by the Idaho State Historic Preservation Office in 1973.

As with all old downtown buildings it is on the National Register of Historic Places.

Wallace’s first Masonic Temple was on Sanborn Maps 1891-1908 at 6th Street and Hotel Street and listed in American Motion Picture Directory 1914-1915. No information remains as to the fate of this first Masonic Temple but it could have been destroyed by the August 20, 1910 Great Fire (aka Big Burn), which destroyed most of Wallace and killed 87 people. The location today would be 604 Hotel Street where the swimming pool has been located since 1939.
