Located in the City of London district (the old heart of the city and today its' financial district) at the corner of Bishopsgate and New Street (opposite the side entrance to Liverpool Street Railway Station). The Daily Bioscope was opened in a converted shop on 23rd May 1906 with “San Francisco Disaster”, “The Olympic Games at Athens” and two short comedies. It had 100-seats and was operated by G.F. Silas on behalf of the Gaumont Company.

During 1909 it was renamed Automatic Vaudeville and Daily Bioscope. It was enlarged to seat 120, with tip-up seats and chairs. On 12th January 1910 it was granted a Cinematograph Licence and was renamed Bishopsgate Picture Palace.
