Keene Cinemas 6

The Key Cinemas opened its doors on August 8, 1980 with four screens, screening “Airplane”, “Dressed To Kill”, “Caddyshack”, and “The Blue Lagoon” in screen order. Two more screens were added a couple years later bringing a total to six.

It was once later operated by Hoyts, and was renamed the Keene Cinemas 6 in 1999 retaining its Hoyts ownership. By 2024 it is independently-operated.

Despite being renamed Keene Cinemas 6 in 1999, some newspapers retained its original Key Cinemas name into as late as 2004.
