Opened in 1960 by Americans living in Turkey who converted the existing building into a cinema. The multiplexed Kızılırmak in the Kızılay district showed Turkish, Hollywood and other foreign films. Owner Can Köksal stated that the building was too old to save and it was closed on August 22, 2024 and slated for demolition and redevelopment.
