The 250-seat Lyric Theatre opened in the 1920’s. By 1934 it had been renamed Princess Theatre. By 1938 it had been renamed Dixie Theatre. It was once later operated by Paul Stancil. By 1950 the Dixie Theatre had been enlarged to 330-seats, possibly with the addition of a balcony? It was still open in 1957 and was last operated as the Town Theatre, which closed on December 25, 1962 with James Mason in “Hero’s Island”.
