Arc Cinema

In the centre of the South Yorkshire town of Rotherham, the Forge Island leisure development was promoted by national urban regenerator Muse Developments. It includes a Travelodge hotel and six food and drink outlets - and an Arc multiplex, the design for which is said to reflect the strong industrial heritage of the site.

After a series of ‘soft’ previews, which began on 30th August 2024, the cinema officially opened on Friday 6th September 2024 (“Forge Island celebration day”). The big new release was the Tim Burton sequel “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice”; the other films on offer, such as children’s favourites “Despicable Me 4” and “Inside Out 2”, and romantic drama “It Ends with Us” were holdovers.

Seating capacities are: Screen 1:135, Screen 2:144, Screen 3:49, Screen 4:49, Screen 5:70, Screen 6:122, Screen 7:131 and Screen 8:121.

Screens 1 and 2 are HYPERSENSE auditoriums. Billed as “the pinnacle of cinematic innovation at Arc Cinema”, these have luxury recliner seating, Dolby Atmos surround sound, “crystal-clear” 4K laser projection and “giant wall-to-wall” screens.
