The Kinodrome Theater is a very early motion picture house located on the site of a former Red Cross Pharmacy near the intersection of Franklin Street and Madison Street. Opening on December 7, 1907 with a presentation of “Aladdin and His Wonderful Lamp”, it was one of the oldest Kinodromes to operate south of the Ohio River.

The Kinodrome Theater closed for the final time on November 28, 1915 after the theater was bought by Jacksonville residents T. Edward Kane and John T. Alsop.
