The Aeon Cinema Chofu opened its doors on September 29, 2017 with 1,650 seats and 11 screens. The Aeon theater officially became the first movie theater to operate in the Chofu area since the closure of the Chofu Parco which operated from May 25, 1989 until September 11, 2011.
It was the first movie theater in the east part of Japan (and in Tokyo) to feature a GDC DTS-X sound system in its largest auditorium which houses 530 seats. Other installations include 4DX.
