Ed Haley and City Wide Amusement launched the Grand-Florissant Airdome to capacity with Robert Warwick on June 26, 1920 with Robert Warwick in “Thou Art the Man". Impressive as the facility seated 1,850 patrons. In 1921, Spyros Skouras merged with City Wide for season two as the St. Louis Amusement Company. It basically stayed in that family for each of its operational seasons. In 1922, it was technically listed as Famous Players Missouri Lasky before officially returning to St. Louis Amusement.
In the 1938, it reopened under the Fanchon & Marco brand name as the Florissant Airdome. For its final season, in 1939, it was officially back with St. Louis Amusement. It closed permanently with Richard Dix in “Sam Houston, Man of Conquest” and Martha Raye in “Never Say Die”. It was later demolished.
