The Norby’s Theatre opened its doors on March 8, 1916, and had later went under several names including the Legion Theatre by December 1927 and the Ellendale Theatre by 1929.
The Ellendale Theatre closed in the mid-1930’s and was converted into a dealership. This left Ellendale without a movie theatre until the November 1950 launch of the Dale Theatre.
