The Capitol Theatre most likely replaced the nearby Neighborhood Theatre, though I cannot confirm any information about it. The Capitol originally housed 531 seats, but was downgraded to 496 seats during the 1960s. The Capitol last housed 401 seats before its 1981 closure.
