Located in the south Derbyshire, historic Georgian town of Melbourne, famous as being the birthplace of Thomas Cook, the travel agent in 1808. In 1857, British prime minister William Lamb, 2nd Viscount Melbourne lived in Melbourne, and the Australian city of Melbourne was named after him. The Royal Electric Theatre was operating as a cinema by 1914. It was operated by W. Fearn.
