The New Lyric Theatre was listed in the 1914-15 American Motion Picture Directory. It operated in an old, single story, wooden storefront with brick veneer. This dated to sometime before 1886, and housed a general store on the 1907 map.
It’s unclear whether there was a previous Lyric Theatre for this to be the New version of, and by 1926, it had been renamed to Empress Theatre. This theatre operated until about 1936, when it was demolished to be replaced by a new theater building.
