Cinemas in April 1943 and was enlarged to a seating capacity of 875-seats by extending the auditorium. It reopened as the Eastway Cinema. It was closed on 26th August 1961.

It was converted into a supermarket and since at least 1998 has been a branch of Iceland supermarket. Apparently the original splendid Edwardian decorative detail is still there above a false ceiling. It is a Grade C(s) Listed Building.
