Located in the Whiteinch district of Glasgow. The 700-seat Avenue Cinema was opened on 5th February 1913 screening films and music hall acts on its tiny stage. It was designed by architect Thomas Baird Jr. with its exterior facade in a flamboyant French Empire style. It was later renamed Victoria Cinema. It was operated by James Graham from 1919. It was rebuilt and reopened as the Victoria Cinema on 5th June 1930. Sold to George Palmer on 4th May 1945, it became part of his Associated G.P. Cinemas chain. It was extensively refurbished by Modernisation Ltd. and reopened as the Victory Cinema. It was rebuilt to the plans of architect Lennox D. Paterson in 1949. It was closed in 1964 and became a warehouse.
It was demolished in 1980.
