The Rohr Building was built in 1915 by A.J. Harlow. He opened the Wilber Theatre which, along with sporadic play dates at the Masonic Lodge Theatre, provided the town with silent films. The first advertised film was January 28, 1916 with Pauline Frederick in “The Eternal City”.
The Pitts Circuit opened the Madison Theatre in 1931 in town. At that time, Benjamin T. Pitts contracted with Wilbur Theatre operator A.J. Harlow to consolidate operations. Harlow’s last film was Richard Dix in “Young Donovan’s Kid”. Harlow then ran an advertisement selling the player piano and all of the seats from the venue. The former Wilbur Theatre location became Grymes Pharmacy after a remodeling in 1932. It became Buchanan & Kiguel framing shop until 1990. In 2024 it is an antiques shop.
