Manager C.L. Price opened the DeSoto Theatre’s doors on April 11, 1927 with John Bowers in “Laddie” alongside music by an unknown performer on his piano (otherwise it was unknown if any short subjects were added).

The theatre originally had a capacity of 640 seats (with 500 seats in the main auditorium and 140 seats in the balcony), and the building was owned by Mr. E.A. McColskey. The original auditorium featured a silver sheet screen with gray draperies, a cream-colored ceiling, and old rose-colored walls. It also featured a typhoon Nu Air Cooling System that controlled the temperature for comfort.

The DeSoto Theatre was still open in 1943, but had closed by 1950.
