The Queen’s Hall was opened on 29th December 1910. Seating was provided for 806. In January 1930 it was equipped with a Western Electric(WE) sound system and was renamed New Queen’s Hall Cinema reopening with “Irene Dunne in "Showboat”. In 1931 it was taken over by the J.F. Emery Circuit. It was closed on 27th May 1933.

It was demolished and the Plaza Cinema was built on and adjacent site (it has its own page on Cinema Treasures as the Apollo Cinema).
