Located n the northwest of the city centre. The Mozart Palace was a big capacity movie palace built in 1913 with 1,250-seats, and designed by architect Jean-Marius Girard. Seating was provided in orchestra and balcony levels. The manager was the son-in-law of Henry Guimard, the architect of the Art Nouveau period. The seats designed in Art Nouveau style were from a short-lived theatre also designed by architect Jean-Marius Girard.
The building was renovated through the years and was enlarged to seat 1,700. It was closed in 1954. This was the beginning of the TV age in France and the Mozart Pathe became a Monoprix supermarket.
In 2004, it is easy to look at the building and imagine it was a former movie palace.
